In recent years, transmedia storytelling has become a lucrative enterprise, none more so than the mythology created in the world of the Matrix. Unfortunately, telling a story across numerous media, and in different genres, has excluded some fans who find the process of learning the story to be far to tedious. The high levels of audience involvement that transmedia stories demand will one day remake the conception of what stories should be. Should this transformation occur overnight, consumers would be unable to respond to the changes and only the most basic ones would survive. However, it is far more likely that they will evolve in a manner similar to the growth of Star Wars mythology, with essential material covered in films, animated series or blockbuster video games with lesser details promulgated through books, cartoons, or lower budget video games. In the current world, in which transmedia stories are mixed with more traditional ones, creators of traditional narratives are forced to alter some of their practices in order to draw consumers in. This will eventually result in the merger of the two ideas, resulting in transmedia stories that are told on only three or four media while traditional narratives add an additional medium to their original one.
